Position: Structural Engineer

Location: St. Paul, MN

Position & Skills:

We have an opening in our structural engineering department for an experienced engineer.

Qualifications required:

Degree in civil or structural engineering and registration with the Institute of Structural Engineers.

Current Professional Engineer license for Minnesota.

Working knowledge/experience with Revit and AutoCad software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.

Minimum 10 years experience in structural drafting/designing using various construction methods, i.e. structural steel, and concrete.

This person will:

  • Solve engineering problems using experience, judgement, and education.
  • Completes modeling and calculations for projects.
  • Interpret engineering specifications and solve routine problems by applying defined procedures with ample precedent. Make suggestions for modifying concepts and/or product techniques and materials.
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project.
  • Calculate cost and determine feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data.
  • Prepare reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project.
  • Research and review code and permitting requirements for project sites as directed.
  • Make calculations about pressures, loads, and stresses.
  • Troubleshoot design and software issues.
  • May assign and check assignments of engineering technologists and/or technicians.
  • Establish good rapport and build relationships with peers and clients by responding to requests and communicating information in a timely manner.
  • Remain updated on current professional practices and maintain a high awareness of new products and procedures in industry by monitoring trade publications and actively participating in professional associations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position: Structural Drafter

Location: St. Paul, MN

Position & Skills:

We have an opening in our structural drafting department for an experienced designer proficient in Revit and AutoCad.

Qualifications required:

Minimum 2-year Technical/Associate Degree required.

Proficiency with Revit and AutoCad software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.

Minimum 3-5 years experience in structural drafting/designing using various construction methods, i.e. structural steel, steel joists, masonry, concrete, post-tension, precast concrete.

This person will:

  • Work directly with the project engineer during all phases of the project.
  • Be responsible for developing of construction documents.
  • Ability to manage projects and coordinate with clients and engineers.
  • Be able to identify and resolve project challenges and changes and demonstrate an understanding of the project scope and maintaining the deadline schedules.
  • Utilize their knowledge of structural systems and construction details.
  • Review shop drawings during construction administration phase and assist project engineer with on-site inspections for compliance with drawings.
  • Be able to provide clear and concise communication through both verbal and written styles. 

Position: Receptionist/Accounts Payable

Location: St. Paul, MN

Position & Skills:

We have an opening in our office for a part-time receptionist with experience in Accounts Payable.

Qualifications required:

High school diploma and minimum two years related experience.

Preferred skills:

Strong telephone skills, written and verbal communication, Microsoft Office Suite, professionalism, customer focus, organization, understanding of accounts payable, integrity, strong interpersonal skills, follow through, flexibility, QuickBooks knowledge, ability to sit for long periods, ability to lift 15 pounds.

This person will:

  • Answer switchboard for multiple companies and route callers appropriately.
  • Manage shipping and receiving of small packages and manage postage meter and route mail appropriately.
  • Maintain and organize paper and electronic files.
  • Welcome and greet visitors, directing as necessary, and provide information to customers and staff as needed.
  • Maintain safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Manage entire Accounts Payable cycle including 1099 forms.
  • Manage Professional Engineer licenses and registrations.
  • Manage petty cash.
  • Other duties as assigned.
